Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE JULY 15, 2026
Cue is made by Aviator Systems LLC. This policy explains what information the Cue app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: your rehearsals and recordings stay on your device, and we only store what is needed to run your account and the sharing features you choose to use.
What stays on your device
- Your video and audio recordings. Takes you film in Cue are recorded, edited, and exported on your iPhone. We never upload your performances.
- Your scripts and projects. Imported sides and projects are stored on your device unless you explicitly share a project with another Cue user.
Live speech detection
In the speech-based cue modes (for example auto-detect, last word, and on silence), Cue listens for you to finish your line. To recognize your words in real time it streams your microphone audio to our speech-to-text provider (ElevenLabs); on some devices and modes an on-device engine is used instead. This audio is used only to detect your cue as you rehearse. It is not recorded, stored, or used to build a profile, and it is separate from any take you choose to save. In the tap, timed, and remote cue modes, no microphone audio is sent off your device.
What we collect when you create an account
Accounts are optional and only needed for sharing features. When you sign up we store your email address, your display name, and a profile handle. This data is hosted for us by Supabase.
What is shared when you use sharing features
- If you invite a friend to a project, a copy of that project (its script, cast, and settings) is uploaded to our servers so your friend can download it.
- If you record lines for a friend's project, those voice recordings are uploaded so they can use them in rehearsal and in their tape.
- Friend connections and related notifications are stored with your account.
Service providers
- Script processing. When you import messy pages, the text of your script may be sent to our parsing provider (OpenAI) to identify characters and lines. Script text is also sent to our voice provider (ElevenLabs) to generate reader audio. During speech-based cue modes, microphone audio is streamed to ElevenLabs for real-time speech-to-text (see Live speech detection above). These providers process the text and audio to provide the feature and do not use it to advertise to you.
- Hosting. Account data and shared projects are stored with Supabase.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment details.
What we do not do
- No ads, and no selling of your data.
- No tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.
- No third-party analytics profiles of your acting work.
Free trial bookkeeping
To make the free trial fair, Cue stores the date your trial started in your device keychain and in your private iCloud key-value storage. That date syncs between your own devices through your Apple account and is not readable by us or by other users.
Data retention and deletion
Shared projects and voice submissions stay on our servers until you delete them or delete your account. To delete your account and all server-side data, contact us at the address below and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Children
Cue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the effective date above.
